Thoughts on Robin Williams and Depression

Thoughts on Robin Williams and Depression.

I’ve wondered for days what I could add of worth regarding the untimely death of Robin Williams. Today in my inbox I received this wonderful post from Nick Ortner, of The Tapping Solution. Nick is a well-known proponent of EFT, a wonderful, quick and easy tapping technique that is used effectively to assist in the resolution of many health and life challenges.

I love this post as it speaks to the depression that Robin suffered from as well as adding great clips of Robin’s work and several resources for EFT tapping for depression, the suicide hotline, depression resources and others.

I went through many years of dark and deep depression and suicidal thoughts. For many of them I was also working, a student and a single mother with chronic asthma so my plate was full. I dropped out of college one semester due to depression. I’d attempt to drive to school and end up in my car in tears before even turning the key to start the car. I managed to stay attentive to my son, but often didn’t really attend to me. Boyfriends and friends left my life, as many do when people around them are depressed. My parents urged me to just ignore my feelings, a tactic they had pressed upon me since early childhood. So I fully understand the pain and am very grateful that I don’t go to those dark places anymore.

I have used EFT effectively since 2000, and love how portable it is and how easy it is to use.

I, like much of the world, experienced great joy from Robin’s movies and the support he gave to the homeless and other charities. His light shone through it all. He will be greatly missed. I truly hope that he is now at peace, shed of the darkness that he struggled with and in a lighter realm freed of the heaviness that has engulfed this planet up until now. I appreciate all he shared with the world and wish that his life could have held more joy for him.

Hope you find this post helpful. If you are facing depression and/or suicidal thoughts, please reach out for help. This planet is going through immense changes right now, for the better, and I’d love for you to stick around to enjoy the wonderful world that is here now and will be even more wonderful in the future. We need your light!!!!

    • Thanks for taking the time to read and comment! I can’t pin the end of depression on any one thing. I stopped using anti-depressants and found homeopathic tinctures that helped. EFT, energy medicine and other holistic techniques helped as well. But on a deeper level, I did deep spiritual work that cleared out the old patterns, beliefs and energies that had created and sustained such destructive darkness and limitations and I just don’t feel depressed anymore. I am grateful every day for that.

    • Eva, thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my post. Yes, EFT and all the other energy medicine and mind/body techniques I have used, plus homeopathy, certainly changed mine!!! I’m even grateful for the anti-depressants that kept me alive until I finally found the right techniques and natural remedies that helped me finally heal my depression.

        • Thanks Eva! Glad you enjoy them. Yes, at one point, I had a holistic chiropractor test a homeopathic mixture for my pineal gland that helped and I never went back to drugs. I’ve also used SAM-e, a supplement and some herbal supplements like holy basil, rhodiola, and ashwaganda before, with good results. But for several years now, the depression and darkness is completely gone. Whew!!!!

  2. Katelon, I just now saw this post of yours and I do thank you for reaching out to others who experience depression. I have struggled with depression all of my life, and in fact, more so recently again. Tonight I am taking the iniative by going to a yoga class tonight, something that has been on my mind lately to do. Bless you for helping those who have read this. Love, Amy

    • Thanks Amy! I’m so sorry that you are struggling right now. I’m so grateful every day that I don’t go to those hopeless, dark places anymore. I’m glad you are able to stay proactive and take care of yourself. The last times I did go through depression I found that the supplement SAME-e, and the herbs Rhodiola, Holy Basil, and Ashwagadna, were helpful for me. Also, a homeopathic mixture that was for the pituitary gland. Hope you are feeling much better quickly!

      • I am going to my OB-GYN about this because along with the depression I have had terrible night sweats. I have tried SAM-e and it did not agree with me. I am going to do some research on the herbs you mentioned as well. I don’t want to feel like this, and I am pretty sure post-menopause has everything to do with it. Perhaps this yoga class will help. I hope. Or this could be the letdown period after going through months of healing with Rusty. That in of itself took so much out of me. I don’t know, Katelon. Something is up and I am going to help me. (((HUGS))) Amy

        • Sorry to hear that. There is much going on in the planet right now, love rushing in, darkness being pushed out, our bodies being reworked into our light bodies….lots to deal with and yes, you’ve been through much over the last several months. Sending on love and healing energy.

          • Thank you, Katelon!!! Bless you! For me to go to a doctor, you have to know something is really bothering me. I also feel the energy “changes” which have been at times like a battering ram. I again say thank you for all the information you have given me. (((HUGS))) Amy
